Exploring talent development models for Hydrogen Energy Science and Engineering at North China Electric Power University
as a crucial energy form for achieving the strategic goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality
is accelerating the profound transformation of the global energy system. In response to the urgent demand for high-quality interdisciplinary talents in the hydrogen energy industry
North China Electric Power University has pioneered the establishment of the first "Hydrogen Energy Science and Engineering" undergraduate program in China. This initiative explores a three-dimensional collaborative talent cultivation model centered on "professional foundation
industrial expansion
and engineering practice." This model systematically optimizes the curriculum
deepens university-industry collaboration
and strengthens the integration of research training and practical teaching
and innovative potential. In terms of professional foundation
the university refines the course structure
promotes multidisciplinary integration
and solidifies student theoretical groundwork. For industrial expansion
platforms such as the "Hydrogen Energy Express" and "Hydrogen Energy Forum" are utilized to enhance student understanding of cutting-edge technologies
policy trends
and development pathways in the industry. Regarding engineering practice
intelligent tools such as the Hydrogen Chat intelligent Question and Answer system and the Digital Hydrogen database platform are introduced to create smart learning scenarios
thereby boosting student practical skills and comprehensive competence. Furthermore
by organizing participation in hydrogen energy vocational skill competitions
students further hone their engineering capabilities
collaborative skills
and technological innovation abilities through project-based practice. Teaching practice demonstrates that this three-dimensional collaborative cultivation model significantly enhances student academic competence
practical skills
and industry adaptability. It supplies the hydrogen energy sector with high-quality talents possessing systemic thinking
technical expertise
and an international perspective
while also providing a replicable and scalable practical paradigm for the reform of hydrogen energy education. This effort offers solid talent support for the optimization of the national energy structure and the development of strategic emerging industries.
